Our team has developed a public safety specific ground school based on the FAA’s requirements for the private pilot written exam and our years of experience as flight instructors and medevac pilots. Topics that are not applicable to sUAS operation have been removed and replaced with several that cover the challenging environment of emergency response.
In addition to preparing the student to understand the FAA’s requirements for a private pilot, the class will cover the specific operations for sUAS including:
- Pre-flight and safety briefings
- Basic flight maneuvers
- Emergency flight maneuvers
- Operating in a dynamic environment
- Operating in a two-person team
- Post-flight debriefing
